Assault charge for Nuneaton Town football boss

A football club chairman has been arrested and charged over an alleged assault.



Warwickshire Police said Ian Neale, chairman of Nuneaton Town, had been arrested on Saturday afternoon and then charged with common assault a few hours later.

He has been bailed to appear at the town's magistrates' court on Monday.

Nuneaton Town Football Club currently play in the Blue Square Bet North league.

What annoys me about this is that the alleged assault took place the night before and the police could have arrested him quietly at any time but instead chose the middle of an important football match thus creating maximum embarrassment for the accused
