"Urgent" appeal issued after robbery in Coventry...

Coventry Police has issued an urgent appeal to find a man after a shop worker was attacked at newsagents in the city. A photo released by the force showed a bald man wearing a white T-shirt.

A man assaulted the shop worker during a robbery. The victim was kicked and punched before items were stolen. The incident happened on August 8 around 6:50am on Station Street East in Foleshill.

The full statement by Coventry Police said: "We want to speak to this man after a shop worker was assaulted during a robbery at a newsagents in Coventry. The victim was repeatedly punched and he was also kicked before items were taken. It happened in Station Street East at around 6.50am on 8 August.

Man charged after 'shop worker assaulted in Coventry robbery'

Officers have charged a man after a robbery at a Coventry newsagents. West Midlands Police say they arrested Jason Gordon after the alleged incident in Station Street East in Foleshill at around 6.50am on August 8.

The 46-year-old was charged with assaulting a shop worker, as well as robbery, and has been remanded to appear before magistrates on Monday, September 9. Police said the arrest was part of Operation Ruby, which aimed to reduce robbery in the city, and the wider West Midlands.

A spokesman for the force said: "We've charged a man after a shop worker was assaulted during a robbery at a newsagents in Coventry. We arrested Jason Gordon in connection with the incident in Station Street East at around 6.50am on 8 August.

"The 46-year-old from Coventry has now been charged with robbery and remanded to appear before magistrates tomorrow (September 9)."

Makes you wonder how much earlier he would have been arrested if they'd released the information sooner? :roll:
