The midfielder hit a 14th minute winner to lift Boro within two points of the Blue Square Bet North play-off zone.

But Bedworth United were dumped out of the FA Trophy in spectacular fashion, suffering their heaviest ever defeat as they lost 10-0 at Matlock.

Ross Hannah scored seven times as the home side smashed eight goals past the Greenbacks in the final half hour.

Leamington and Rugby Town both progressed after winning their respective first round qualifying ties.

Rugby came from two down to win 3-2 at Hemel Hempstead, Tyrone Fagan bagging a brace before skipper Nick Preston nicked the winner.

Leamington won 3-1 at Woodford United, courtesy of goals from James Husband, Craig Wilding and Liam Daly.
