Heavy snow is falling across the region
Bin collections have resumed across Coventry after they were suspended for part of this morning across the city following snowfall. Heavy snowfall has impacted roads across the city to the extent that Coventry City Council has announced that no bin collections will take place today.
Coventry City Council tweeted: "All collections have been suspended due to the snow. A further assessment will be made, and we hope to get back out again as conditions improve."
The authority has now announced on its Facebook page that collections have resumed.
A 31-hour yellow weather warning is in place across Coventry and Warwickshire this morning as snow continues to fall. It's in place until 2pm tomorrow.
The warning was issued by the Met Office, who say that conditions are set to remain unsettled. Snow is expected this morning and tomorrow morning before temperatures rise later in the week.
Roads across Coventry were affected by snow, with heavy traffic in the west and north of the city in particular.
So far, one Coventry school has closed its doors due to the weather. West Coventry Academy will be closed today and all students have been told to remain at home.
