It is the latest in a series that have been submitted for this area
Plans to build 500 homes on farmland in Nuneaton have been revealed. Gladman is seeking the green light to build the new housing estate at Poplars Farm on the Longshoot.
It is the latest application from the developers who, in 2019, submitted an application for the same piece of land, for 650 homes. This was refused by planning application committee members at the Town Hall following more than 100 objections and concerns raised about highways issues.
Three years later, the firm has submitted another application to the borough council, for fewer homes. This time it is a total of 500, as well as public open space, drainage, sustainable drainage systems and vehicular access points.
Documents associated with the application have yet to be uploaded onto the borough council's website. CoventryLive has asked the council for access to these.
But, as it is an outline application, it means that the finer details will not be revealed unless it is given the green light and it is moved to a reserved matters stage. As with all planning applications, there is a public consultation being held and this gives people the chance to have their say.
The council has set January 2 as the date for when a decision will be made if the application is given the go-ahead.
