He was reportedly approached on Bond Street
A teenage boy was robbed after being surrounded by a group of men in Coventry. It happened in Bond Street on Wednesday, September 21.
Police say one of the men snatched the victim's bag, but as the suspects attempted to drive away a member of the public stepped in causing the perpetrators to flee empty-handed. Police seized the car and found a machete inside.
Officers are now appealing to find the young victim who left the scene shortly after the robbery. A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We are appealing to identify the victim of a robbery in Coventry on Bond Street on September 21.
"A report came in to us, that a teenage boy was surrounded by a group of men who took his bag. The men attempted to leave in a car, but a member of public intervened and they fled empty-handed.
"The car has been seized and a machete was found inside the car. The victim had left the scene and we are appealing for him to come forward to provide a statement."
