Roadwork signs in the area of Coventry say work starts on Friday, March 11 - but this is not right
Spon End and Butts Road will be open this weekend despite road closure signs saying work starts there today.
Roadwork signs said the stretch would close today (Friday, March 11) so that more air quality works could be carried out.
The main road heading into the city centre was supposed to close at 8pm and reopen at 5am on Monday, March 14.
But Coventry City Council (CCC) have now said these planned closures will not happen.
The area was closed for three days last weekend and roadside works have been on-going in preparation to widen the road.
It comes after the Government said a charging zone would need to be introduced if the city council didn't do something to help reduce nitrogen dioxide levels in the city - especially on Holyhead Road where the levels are the highest in the city.
However, the planned work has been disrupted due to protesters, who have settled on a patch of grass, trying to stop trees being cut down.
