Police carried out a fines blitz against poor parkers on Far Gosford Street after a bus was left wedged in.

Coventry City Centre officers took the action following the CoventryLive report after a No 13 National Express double-decker bus on the traffic-choked one-way street.

As we reported in our Coventry newsletter the bus was unable to navigate its way along the street due to a badly parked car obstructing its path.

In a bid to prevent a repeat scenario, the police team took to the busy street to fine those who had parked on double yellow lines.

A post on the official Coventry City Centre Police said they dished out fines to three motorists.

Parking is available along parts of Far Gosford Street, but if cars park in places they shouldn’t buses and lorries are sometimes unable to pass.

It is not just police who are taking action, so is Coventry City Council.

The council says it will be stepping up enforcement action along the thoroughfare, which houses some of Coventry’s oldest buildings and is also home to FarGo Village.

Civil enforcement officers (CEOs) are set to be specifically targeting Far Gosford Street and illegally parked cars in a bid to put an end to the problem.
