The burst pipe on Holbrooks Lane is being repaired
Residents in an area in Coventry are told to expect cloudy water from their taps after a burst pipe forced the closure of a busy road.
Severn Trent and the council were informed when there were reports of water gushing onto the street in Holbrooks on Thursday.
The water company acted quickly and have closed the road in order to carry out repairs.
They have have also warned customers they could have cloudy water from their taps for "a brief time" but say it is just "harmless sediment" that has been disturbed by the burst pipe.
Residents are being told they can run taps for a period of time to help clear it if they wish.
According to the council's roadworks website, delays are likely in the area due to the road closure while work is completed.
A Severn Trent spokesperson said: “Our teams are working hard to repair a burst water pipe on Holbrook Lane in Coventry. In order to keep both our teams and other road users safe while we carry out this repair we’ve had to put a temporary road closure in place.
"However, we fully understand that this is a busy road, and our absolute priority is to complete this work as quickly, and safely as possible."

"Customers experiencing cloudy water can help to clear their supply by running the cold water tap at a gentle rate for about 20 minutes."
