Four other people were arrested after the disturbance on Thursday morning
Police have arrested a 44-year-old man on suspicion of murder following an incident in Exhall in which a man in his 70s died.
Warwickshire Police say four others have been arrested in connection with the incident which happened today (May 20) on Treviscoe Close in Exhall.
Detective Chief Inspector Jon Belcher, from Warwickshire, said “Next of kin has been informed and a full investigation is underway to establish the cause and circumstances that led to this loss of life.
"At this time it is believed that all the people involved in the disturbance were known to each other.
"Exhall residents should not be concerned by the large police presence today as a full forensic examination of the area and house to house enquiries are made to establish the facts.”
A statement from Warwickshire Police reads: "The incident occurred at around 8.45am this morning. Upon arrival, West Midlands Ambulance Service paramedics administered emergency life support to a 72-year-old man but sadly, nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.
"A second man and a woman were medically assessed and treated for minor injuries.
"Warwickshire Police has arrested a 44-year-old man on suspected murder and four other people for their alleged part in the disturbance. This was a contained incident and presented no threat to the wider community."
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information, CCTV or video footage to phone 101, quoting incident number 0071 of May 20.

Three women arrested in connection to Exhall incident which saw pensioner die
Three women have been arrested in connection with the Exhall incident on Thursday which saw a man in his 70s die.
Warwickshire Police arrested five people yesterday, one on suspicion of murder, after emergency services were called to an incident on Treviscoe Close at 8.45am on Thursday (20 March).
A man aged 72 was found in critical condition but he was then pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have now arrested three women, aged between 36 and 41, bringing the total number of people currently in custody up to eight.
A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said: "Further arrests have been made following an incident yesterday morning (20 May) where a man died following a report of a disturbance in Treviscoe Close, Exhall.
"Three women aged 36, 38 and 41 were arrested for alleged violent disorder. This brings the total number of people currently held in custody to eight.
"All of the suspects live in Exhall and this is being treated as an isolated event with no further threat to the public."

Police name man killed in disturbance
Police have named the victim at the centre of a murder investigation in Exhall.
They say that Sukhdev Singh, 72, sadly lost his life following an incident on Treviscoe Close.
It is understood that he was a father and grandfather but no family tribute has been issued.
In a statement, Warwickshire Police said: "The family have requested privacy at this very difficult time."
Eight people were taken into custody on suspicion of various offences, including a murder arrest.
Four women aged between 36 and 41, were arrested for violent disorder. They have all been bailed.
Three men, aged 32, 34 and 37, were all arrested for affray and have been bailed until today (June 17).
The eighth individual was a man, aged 44, arrested on suspicion of murder. He was released on bailed until tomorrow (June 18).
