Man arrested after stab assault in Nuneaton

A 46-year-old man has been arrested after another man was treated for a stab wound in Warwickshire.

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital after suffering a stab wound in Waverley Avenue, Nuneaton, on Saturday night, police said.

A scan revealed he had suffered internal bleeding and a punctured lung. He is currently in a stable condition.

The man who was arrested was questioned on suspicion of assault and released on bail.

Police have appealed for witnesses.

Warwickshire Police officers are carrying out house-to-house inquiries and studying CCTV film, a spokeswoman said.
