The supermarket giant say they are taking "all the relevant precautions"
Staff at the Tesco store at Coventry's Arena Park have tested positive for coronavirus, the food giant has confirmed.
The say that the "safety of our colleagues and customers is our number one priority" and they are currently liaising with health officials over the outbreak.
The number of staff to have tested positive for Covid-19 is unknown and the store remains open as normal.
A spokesman for Tesco said: "A small number of colleagues at our Coventry Arena store have tested positive for Covid-19.
"The safety of our colleagues and customers is our number one priority and we are engaging with Public Health authorities, following their advice and taking all the relevant precautions."
Tesco has also been asked if all members of staff at the Arena Park store be tested for Covid-19.

Number of Tesco staff in Coventry who tested positive for Covid-19 revealed
The number of staff who tested positive for coronavirus at the Tesco store at the in Arena Park shopping centre in Coventry has been revealed.
CoventryLive yesterday reported that a number of staff at the Arena Park store had tested positive.
This afternoon a joint statement was released by Coventry City Council and Tesco.
It revealed that nine Tesco staff had tested positive for Covid-19 at Arena Park.
The statement also said that the management team at the Tesco Arena Park store is working closely with public health bodies.
It added that the situation was being assessed and efforts being made to trace any people who have had contact with the staff tested positive, who are now all isolating.
The statement said that a deep clean had taken place at parts of the Tesco Arena Park store.
The joint statement said: “The management of Tesco Arena Park is working closely with the public health team at Coventry City Council and Public Health England (PHE) Midlands, following nine confirmed cases of Covid-19 among people working at the store.
“Public health partners are thoroughly assessing the situation, including tracing of any contacts of the individuals with the virus.”
Dr Roger Gajraj, consultant in communicable disease control for PHE Midlands, said: “The management at Tesco Arena Park are cooperating fully with public health professionals to protect the health and wellbeing of their workforce and wider public health.
“The individuals who have tested positive for Covid-19 are all isolating for at least 10 days, with their household members advised to self-isolate for 14 days – as per national guidance.
“Testing is being arranged for the group of staff members identified as being in closer contact with affected individuals.
“Overnight, the store has performed a deep clean of targeted areas, to reduce risk of infection being spread.”

Covid case confirmed at second Tesco store in Coventry
A member of staff at a second Tesco store in Coventry has tested positive for coronavirus.
The supermarket giant today (Friday) confirmed that a worker at the store at Cannon Park shopping centre has Covid-19 and the store is following the advice of Public Health authorities.
The news comes just days after Tesco stated that nine staff members at its Arena Park store in Coventry also had the virus.
A Tesco spokesperson said: “A colleague at our Coventry Cannon Park store has tested positive for Covid-19.
"The safety of our colleagues and customers remains our number one priority and we are continuing to engage with Public Health authorities, following their advice and taking all the relevant precautions.”
The Cannon Park store remains open to customers and bosses are working to alert all colleagues who may have come in to contact with the infected staff member.
