Police called out to almost 30 breaches of coronavirus lockdown rule-breaking incidents in Nuneaton and Bedworth in less than 24 hours.

Nuneaton and Bedworth Police revealed that yesterday afternoon and evening (May 7) they were called out to 26 incidents across the borough.

There were reports of 15 incidents in Nuneaton, and 11 incidents in Bedworth of breaches of coronavirus regulations that have required officers attending.

It included one group playing a football match and others having parties at addresses with those who do not live there.

The post on the Nuneaton and Bedworth Police page on Facebook reads: "We appreciate the lockdown has been in place for a significant amount of time.

"However, particularly on the evening that we acknowledge the health care workers that are at risk trying to save those who have been infected, we would like to remind everyone that the restrictions are still in place.

"If a individual is identified of breaching the regulations you may be fined by officers and PCSOs. This includes parents/guardians who have failed to prevent children from following the regulations."
