Armed police swarmed on a house in Nuneaton following reports of a man with a gun.
The armed unit was called to a property in Merino Drive, off Eastboro Way, just before 10pm last night (September 18).
A spokesperson for Warwickshire Police confirmed the unit responded to a 999 call made at 8.38pm last night (Wednesday, September 18) following reports man was believed to be holding a handgun in the street.
"Officers, including armed officers, attended the location as a precautionary measure," the police spokesperson said.
"A 23-year-old man from Nuneaton was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
"It was later established the gun was a toy item."
There were no reported injuries to the public.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) said they were called to an incident in Merino Drive at 10.01pm by police.
"One ambulance attended and, on arrival, we found one male patient who, following treatment at the scene, was taken to the George Eliot Hospital," the WMAS spokesperson confirmed.
