Police find vicious-looking knives after car stopped in Hillfields

The weapons are now off the streets



These four potentially lethal weapons were found inside a car stopped by police.

A photo showing the knives was posted on Twitter by Coventry City Centre police team after they stopped a vehicle in Hillfields on Sunday, July 14.

The officers involved were on patrol as part of Operation Guardian - West Midlands Police's latest crackdown on knife and violent crime and suspects.

As well as the knives being seized, a man was arrested and has since been charged.

George Chamberlain, 22, of Pasture Way, Warwick, has been charged with possessing a knife and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.

He has been bailed to appear before Coventry Magistrates' Court on July 30.
