No free festive parking will be offered in Nuneaton and Bedworth town centres

Unlike some neighbouring authorities, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council will not be waiving car parking charges in the weekends in the run up to the big day.

The council did offer free car parking on the afternoons prior to the Christmas Light switch-on events in both town centres.

Car parking fees were also scrapped on Remembrance Sunday in Nuneaton and Bedworth.

But, unlike some years, there will be no free festive parking for shoppers.

Coventry Live asked the borough council for a comment but was told it was a 'statement of fact' that the council was not offering any free parking.

In Hinckley, parking is free on Saturdays in the run-up to Christmas Day at council-owned car parks and at the college site.

Parking is also free in all of Tamworth Borough Council’s car parks on the two Saturdays leading up to Christmas – December 15 and December 22.

Over in Coventry, there is free parking being offered on all Wednesdays after 3pm.

They will then be free parking between Monday, December 17 and Friday, December 21 after 3pm in the run up to the big day.

North Warwickshire Borough Council has free parking all year round in its Long Street car park in Atherstone.

Not really a shock is it? A lacklustre council out of touch with reality...

Vote them out at the first opportunity for people that actually care about the borough.
