The fire took hold in a matter of moments
This is the shocking image of a garden in Earlsdon being set alight after a firework bounced off the roof of a house.
Homeowner John Miller's CCTV footage captured the dramatic moment, which took place on Saturday night (November 3).
It is believed that a neighbour's firework rebounded off a roof, ending up in Mr Miller's hedge.
Within a matter of minutes, the hedge was completely ablaze, spreading to a neighbour's shed and destroying it.
Firefighters from Canley's Green Watch were called to the scene and they, along with the help of neighbours with hoses, ensured that there were no injuries.
In total, fire crews were on the scene for nearly three hours.
This year, there has been a debate surrounding the use of fireworks, with many arguing they should be restricted or banned. And for John Miller, this incident has completely changed his mind on them. He said: "The fire was massive and my hedge is completely burnt out.
"There has also been substantial damage to my neighbour's shed, it has been completely destroyed, with all its contents.
"My wife and I, and you can see from the pictures, we turned to each other and said that it almost looks like a scene from Terminator 2.
"Watch Commander Andy Higgins and Green Watch from Canley Fire Station were in attendance for nearly two and half hours - they did a fantastic job of putting the fire out and making sure that it was fully out without the possibility of a later flare up.
"Saturday night has changed my mind on fireworks and after seeing the upset this has caused to people around me I think fireworks should be limited to organised displays where they can be enjoyed safely."
