A firearm was also possibly discharged during the incident
Two men were attacked by a gang carrying weapons after police had been called to reports of a cannabis factory in Coventry.
Police were called to a property in Melville Road, Spon End, at around 7.30pm on Tuesday night (November 6).
But before officers could get there, a group of men armed with weapons arrived and attacked two men at the scene.
It is also believed that a firearm was discharged during the incident, although that did not cause any injuries.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We were called to Melville Road in Spon End, Coventry, just before 7.30pm last night (Tuesday, November 6) to a report of a cannabis factory being found at a property on the road.
"While waiting for police arrival, a group of men arrived with weapons and attacked two men who were both taken to hospital with minor injuries.
