The push bike and car collided outside the Millpool pub just after 7pm last night
A 17-year-old cyclist was killed in a crash outside a pub in Coventry last night.
The push bike and car collided outside the Millpool pub on the Hipswell Highway in Walsgrave just after 7pm.
Police officers were called to the scene at 7.15pm.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police confirmed the teenager had sadly died.
A statement at the time from Coventry Police said: "Police are at the scene of a serious road traffic collision involving a car and a cyclist outside the Millpool pub in Walsgrave , Coventry.
"Officers were called at 7.15pm, and road closures are in place on Binley Road, Allard Way and the Hipswell Highway outside the pub.
"They are expected to stay until 11pm."
The force has appealed for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.

Cyclist, 17, killed in crash named
The teenage cyclist pronounced dead at the scene of a crash in Coventry last night has been named as Ryan Willoughby-Oakes.
Ryan was riding his bike along Binley Road when he was in collision with a Nissan FT-R while crossing the traffic lights at the junction with Hipswell Highway.
The trainee electrician, from nearby Newey Road, suffered a critical head injury and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car – a man aged 36 – stopped at the scene and provided a negative breath test. He has not been arrested but is helping police with their enquiries.
Collision investigators at West Midlands Police are appealing for witnesses.
The crash happened at around 7.15pm and the road was closed for just over three hours as investigators examined the scene and the crash reconstructed.
Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This is a tragic incident in which a young man has lost his life while out riding his bike.
"Our specially trained Family Liaison Team are offering his family and loved ones support at this very difficult time.
“We understand the car was travelling on Binley Road from west to east and the cyclist was crossing at the traffic lights when the collision occurred.
“We have already spoken to some witnesses and are assessing CCTV – but if anyone saw the impact and has not yet contacted us, or may have caught the collision on a dash-cam or cycle-cam, then I’d urge them to get in touch as they could have important information.”
