A football fan has been banned from going to games for three years after admitting a charge of assault
Lewis Pexman, of Danes Close, Grimsby, entered his guilty plea at Coventry Magistrates' Court having been arrested in the city on March 24 this year.
That was the same day that Coventry City beat Grimsby Town 4-0 in a League Two fixture at the Ricoh Arena.
Pexman, 24, was charged with assault by beating and following his confession in court, magistrates handed him a three-year football banning order (FBO).
The order stops him from attending games during that period, and is also banned from a specified area around Grimsby Town's Blundell Park stadium during home matchdays.
He was also fined £80 and had to pay £50 compensation to his victim, £50 court costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
