A man has been arrested after a crash in Coventry which left a biker's shoe on the roof of a nearby building.

Emergency services were called to the junction of Bennetts Road and Thompsons Road in Keresley yesterday evening after reports of a collision between a car and a motorbike.

Ambulance crews dealt with the biker, who had suffered multiple leg injuries, while police recovered his shoe from the roof of a nearby medical practice.

A GP who was passing at the time of the incident also provided medical care.

The incident took place shortly before 7pm yesterday (October 2) and traffic was briefly held as emergency crews dealt with the situation.

An eyewitness who contacted CoventryLive to warn of the road closure said: "There were no damaged cars seen but looks very dramatic. People crying at the side of the road."

West Midlands Police 's Police Traffic Unit attended the scene, and confirmed they arrested a man on suspicion of drug driving after the incident.
