The crash blocked off a major crossroads in the city for around four hours
Police have released an update on yesterday's smash that involved a police car at one of the city's busiest junctions.
Officers were responding to an emergency call when their car crashed in to a black Jaguar at the crossroads where Binley Road, Allard Way and Hipswell Highway all meet.
Both cars suffered major damage with debris strewn across the road and the two officers had to be cut free from their damaged vehicle.
The crash happened just after 11am and saw the officers, as well as the Jaguar driver, taken to hospital.
And a spokesman for West Midlands Police has today said that all three have been discharged from hospital.
The nasty-looking collision saw a number of lanes and turnings at the Binley Road crossroads blocked off for around four hours.
This was to allow medics - including three ambulance crews and doctors from the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance - the chance to treat the injured and take them to hospital.
The wait was then on for recovery trucks to arrive to remove the police car and Jaguar from the scene.
The police car - a Vauxhall Insignia - had missing passenger door and severe damage to the front end, while the other car had its bonnet in the air and dents all along the driver’s side and two flat tyres.
During the four-hour wait for the scene to be completely cleared, officers were diverting traffic away from certain parts of the crossroads, although some drivers took it upon themselves to create their own alternative routes.
One elderly driver tried to turn right out of Hipswell Highway and up Binley Road against the oncoming traffic before realising their mistake, while many others were making illegal u-turns in the middle of the crossroads.
