Police update on drunken daredevils who scaled walls of Coventry Cathedral
Two drunken men who were arrested after climbing the walls of Coventry Cathedral during a night out have been released by police.
Firefighters had to come to the pair's rescue after they became stuck 40ft up on the ruins of the city's iconic cathedral.
The adult men - aged 36 and 25 - decided to scale the 14th century ruins after a night out in the city, but had to be brought back down to earth courtesy of the city's fire crews and a cherry-picker.
Once back on firm ground they were checked over by paramedics before being arrested by police officers for aggravated trespassing.
West Midlands Police has today stated that the men have been released with no further action to be taken.
