Motorist drove from Coventry to Leicester on wrong side of M69

Armed police followed the vehicle which ended up crashing into barrier



A motorist eventually crashed after driving all the way from Coventry to Leicester on the wrong side of the M69.

Armed police were out on patrol and followed the motorist, who ended up hitting a barrier before coming to a stop on an embankment.

The incident happened at about 4.10am on Saturday, August 11.

There were no reported injuries, reports LeicesterLive.

Leicestershire Police said in a tweet: “Vehicle drove from Coventry to Leicester on the wrong side of the M69 before crashing into the embankment. Thankfully no injuries.”

Police said one person had been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and dangerous driving.
