Masked men assault worker in Post Office robbery

Cash was stolen from the store this afternoon



A Post Office worker was threatened and assaulted by three masked men who burst into the shop with crowbars and hammers.

The male staff member was "badly shaken up" in the incident. which happened today at the branch in Remembrance Road, Willenhall at around 4.55pm.

West Midlands Police are investigating and appealing for information.

Officers received a 999 call to the Post Office branch this afternoon (July 25) to reports of three masked men with crowbars and hammers robbing the store.

A spokesman for the force said it was "understood a staff member was assaulted and threatened" before a cash box was stolen.

The robbers then made off in a black car.

The male Post Office worker was treated for shock.
