A man has died in a crash in Coventry.

Paramedics were called to the junction of Station Street West and Foleshill Road in the early hours, following reports of a two-car crash near to the old General Wolfe Pub.

Two ambulance crews and a paramedic officer arrived to find a bystander performing CPR on a man.

The ambulance staff took over from the bystander, but were unable to save him.

A man in the second car was treated for a hand injury, but was discharged at the scene.

A Foleshill resident who witnessed the aftermath told CoventryLive: "We had a police officer knock at our house for details, after the crash, off Station Street West by the TSB and Barclays.

"The car reversed back up Station Street West. We only saw the car, it had a spoiler on the back."

Possibly unrelated to this event, the same night I witnessed two cars being driven at excess speed further down the road. One jumped the lights, the other came through in excess of 60mph. Both were silver.

Sadly, it is impossible to stop the idiots on the road these days.
