Beth Blakey has slammed Whitefriars for their 'lack of care' after months of waiting for a solution to the mould problem
A distraught mother is furious over the ‘lack of care’ Whitefriars have shown in dealing with a mould problem which, she has been told, is causing her five-month-old baby’s health to deteriorate.
Beth Blakey, 19, says she has been told by her doctor that the severe mould in her house is stopping her daughter from recovering from bronchitis, which she has now had for seven weeks.
Despite this, the new mum claims that Whitefriars did not visit her property or attempt to solve the problem until three months after she reported it.
Beth, who lives on Ferrers Close in Tile Hill, told the Telegraph that she is growing increasingly concerned for her daughter.
She said: “My daughter has had bronchitis for seven weeks now. She is breathing in the white mould spores and it’s really dangerous.
“The doctor’s words were that while the mould is still there, her immune system will continue to deteriorate and she won’t get better.
“She’s been so poorly that she hasn’t been able to have her injections yet.”
Beth said she attempted to contact Whitefriars for weeks following her request, but was told that it was waiting to be logged.
She explained that Whitefriars did not make a visit to her house until January 3, three months after her initial call, when they showed up without prior warning and she was out.
On Tuesday last week (23 January) she was finally given some answers, but they were not ones she wanted to hear.
Beth was told her house would be treated with mould paint, which she claims “clearly doesn’t work” as it had already been used prior to her moving in.
