We've got the collection dates for Coventry, Rugby, Warwick and more
Christmas. The time for peace and goodwill. And discarded wrapping paper and food leftovers.
It’s almost inevitable that your bins will end up full to the brim at Christmas, so we’ve put together a list to show you when the cavalry will arrive.
In more simple terms - this is when you can expect your bins to be collected this Christmas.
We’ve put together this handy guide to let you know exactly when your bins will be collected over the coming days.
In Coventry, alterations will be made across the Christmas week.
Collections will be as follows:- Collections due on Tuesday, December 26, will be on Wednesday, December 27
Cllr Jayne Innes, Coventry City Council’s cabinet member for city services, said: “Our crews have been working hard to make sure that they catch up following the snow last week. And they will be working between Christmas and New Year – with collections taking place a day later than scheduled including Friday’s collection which will take place on Saturday, December 30.

- Collections due on Thursday, December 28, will be on Friday, December 29
- Collections due on Friday, December 29, will be on Saturday, December 30
“Christmas can mean people have extra waste and recycling, including lots of empty boxes and packaging so our crews will be out even though most of the Council shuts over the festive period.
“And this year because garden waste collections have been extended to all year round people will be able to cut up their real trees and put them in their brown lidded bin.”
Rugby
In Rugby, every household will have their black rubbish bins emptied during the week of January 1-5, 2018, inclusive.
These collections will take place on your normal collection day, including on New Year's Day.
As far as the blue bins go, it’s business as usual, with just two exceptions:- If your blue-lid recycling bin is due to be emptied on Christmas Day as part of the fortnightly cycle, it will be emptied on Thursday, December 28, instead.
The green bin collection will be suspended until January 7.
- If your blue-lid recycling bin is due to be emptied on Boxing Day as part of the fortnightly cycle, it will be emptied on Friday, December 29, instead.

Recycling collections in Warwick District delayed or cancelled
Some Christmas recycling collections in the Warwick District have been cancelled or delayed due to the weather.
Residents in the district have different collections days scheduled for their waste and recycling over the Christmas period.
Some residents were due to have a collection yesterday (Wednesday, December 27) but because of the snow the collection had to be cancelled.
According to Warwick District Council’s website there will be further delays to waste and recycling collections and residents that were due to have a collection on December 30 will not have a collection.
The website says: “Due to the adverse weather conditions and the health and safety of our collection crews, not all of the recycling collections could be achieved today (December 27).
“All recycling collections for the remainder of this week will be delayed by one day and those expecting a recycling collection on Saturday December 30, will no longer receive a collection but your recycling will be collected on your next collection in two weeks time.”
According to the council’s website the green bin collections that were due to be collected today (Thursday December 28) have also been cancelled.
