Bob Bulloock, 62, of Brinklow remains in hospital after being attacked by three men outside his home during the afternoon of 25 April.

The mats ask anyone who can help identify the attackers to contact police or Crimestoppers.

A man, aged 23, from Coventry, has been arrested and bailed.

Hammer found

Police said Mr Bullock, who delivered in the Tile Hill area of Coventry, was now off a life-support machine but had lost sight in one eye.

A spokesman added his long-term prognosis was not known but he appeared to be improving.

Mr Bullock is thought to have disturbed the men, all wearing balaclavas, near his van which was parked in Walkers Terrace. He was assaulted and the men drove off in a black Ford Focus towards Ansty. A hammer was found at the scene.

The car was later discovered abandoned and set alight near the Greyhound public house in Longford, Coventry.
