A 50-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing GBH with intent
A man has been left with serious injuries after he was slashed across the face in Nuneaton.
Police are looking for information and witnesses after the attack yesterday.
Officers believe that the man was attacked with a bladed item in Edward Street at around 10.30am.
The victim required hospital treatment following the incident and has since been discharged.
West Midlands Ambulance Service were not called as the victim took himself to hospital.
Police are not yet sure what weapon was used but believe it was a bladed item as the victim was left with lacerations.
A 50-year-old man from Nuneaton has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and remained in police custody on Thursday.
Det Con Jamie Russell, of Warwickshire Police, said: “This incident has left a man with very serious facial injuries and it could have been a lot worse.
“The incident happened in broad daylight in the middle of the street so we believe there will have been plenty of witnesses.
“We’ve spent the day doing house-to-house enquiries but we believe there may have been other people passing by who witnessed the incident or seen something suspicious; we’re keen for these people to contact us.
“At this time we believe the victim and the suspect were known to each other.”
