Severn Trent Water posts £541m profit

Severn Trent Water has reported a 19% increase in profits to £541m for 2009/10 and has announced £2.5bn of investment over five years.

It said it reduced customer complaints by 23% and sewer flooding by 24% and achieved its leakage target despite the coldest winter in 30 years.

Average household bills will fall 4% in real terms by 2015, the company said.

It said it would invest the equivalent of £800 per property across the region over five years to improve services.

The company serves more than 3.7m homes and businesses in England and Wales.

It said its bills were the lowest in the country - an average of 83p per person, per day.

Get a water meter installed and your payments will be lower but the water authorities never broadcast that, DO THEY ?? :stir: ;)

I've been on a water meter for some time now. Living alone my water bill is very low and have persuaded other people living alone to have one installed and the savings are quite significant. :thumbsup:
