Coventry woman caught carrying three kitchen knives in a public place appears in court

Cases heard at Coventry Magistrates Court on January 26

A Coventry woman has been handed a suspended prison sentence for having three kitchen knives in a public place.

Kay Jones pleaded guilty to having the blades in public on January 12 when she appeared at Coventry Magistrates’ Court.

Jones, 28, of Blenhiem Avenue, Holbrooks, also admitted two counts of stealing groceries worth a total of £55 from Spar in October last year and breaching a community order by failing to attend court.

She was given a 12-week prison sentence suspended for a year, ordered to take part in a drug rehabilitation requirement, pay £55 compensation to Spar and a £115 victim surcharge.
