Yobs hurl eggs at an ambulance as paramedics help man in Nuneaton

Yobs hurled eggs at an ambulance as paramedics attempted to help a man who had collapsed in Nuneaton.

A crew from West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) responded to a man, who has not been identified, who had collapsed in Haunchwood Road.

But, while they were there, it is understood that hooligans hurled eggs at them.

The police were called and officers attended the scene on Halloween night (October 31) where, fortunately, there was no major damage caused.

WMAS chiefs have condemned the attack with Steve Elliker, regional head of security and safety, saying: "Why individuals want to vandalise and damage an emergency ambulance, which is the primary function of assisting people at their most vulnerable, is beyond belief.

"In such cases, the Trust will do everything it can to identify and prosecute the small number of individuals who believe it is acceptable to cause criminal damage.

"Members of the public should remember a damaged vehicle, that has to be repaired and is therefore unavailable to respond to emergency calls, could be the one that responds to you or your family."
