Body of man found by police at house in Stoke area of Coventry

Large numbers of police vehicles were spotted on Alfall Road on Sunday afternoon

A body has been found at a house in Coventry after police received a call from a concerned family member.

Large numbers of police vehicles were spotted by members of the public in Alfall Road, Stoke, on Sunday afternoon.

It is understood that officers found the body of a 56-year-old man.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious.

The death has now been referred to the coroner.

The police spokesman said: “Police were called to an address on Alfall Road in Stoke, Coventry at around 2.15pm.

“A 56-year-old man was confirmed dead at the scene but police are not treating his death as suspicious and the matter has now been referred to the coroner.”
