George Eliot Hospital parking charges to go up

Wed May 12, 2010 2:01 pm

Some parking charges are to be increased at a Warwickshire hospital.

A six-hour stay would go up from £2.50 to £4.50 and a four-hour visit would increase from £2 to £3 under plans at George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton.

But the cost of weekly parking passes is to go down and more bays for people with disabilities have been proposed.

"The vast majority of people will still pay the same charge that they paid last year and the year before," director of finance Chris Bradshaw said.

He added: "The fees that are increasing are only those for the longest stays.

"We're trying to introduce more concessions for people who have to make the most use of the hospital."

Usually the people who stay the longest in the hospital car parks are people who have serious medical problems, e.g. cancer patients.
If all the disabled bays are taken, you have to park in the other bays and even tho you have a disabled badge, you have to pay.

You're right there Dutchy. I have to be out of here before 7am tomorrow. Should only be in there for a couple of days - they like to send you home asap - in case you catch anything :tinfoilhat:
