Lewis McDonnell-King broke victim's nose in one attack when he headbutted her in the face

A young Coventry man who assaulted his girlfriend three times in the space of 18 days in her own flat has been jailed for a total of 12 months.

Lewis McDonnell-King had originally denied two charges of common assault and one of assault causing actual bodily harm during an attack in which he broke her nose.

But when the case was listed again at Warwick Crown Court his barrister asked for the charges to be put to him again – and he pleaded guilty to all three offences.

McDonnell-King, aged 20, of Penny Park Lane, Holbrooks, was given consecutive jail terms of two months for each of the common assaults and eight months for causing actual bodily harm.

Jailing McDonnell-King, Recorder Kevin Hegarty QC told him: “You committed three assaults over the course of 18 days on a young woman at a time you were in a relationship with her.”
