Man injured in post office raid in Coleshill

A sub post office worker was injured during an armed robbery in Warwickshire.

Three masked men, armed with a crowbar, entered the store in Station Road, Whitacre Heath, Coleshill, on Wednesday morning, police said.

Staff were threatened with the crowbar before the men stole money from the cash till and escaped in a red car.

The post office worker was treated for head injuries. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a robbery at a sub Post Office in Station Road, Whitacre Heath, Coleshill that occurred at approximately 11.20am on Wednesday morning, 5 May 2010.

Officers are asking the public to help them identify three offenders who are reported to have gone into the post office and threatened staff with a crow bar.

The men stole money from the cash till.

The three men ran out of the Post Office, one carrying a bag, and got into a red car, which then drove off towards Bodymore Heath.

During the robbery a male member of staff was struck with an iron bar. He suffered a slight cut to the head and although he declined medical attention, an ambulance was called to check him over.
