A manhunt has been launched after a 21-year-old woman was left with a shattered jaw following a “sickening” attack at her home in Coventry days before Christmas.
During an emergency operation surgeons used three metal plates and 12 screws to stabilise the fractures to the Wood End woman’s jaw.
Her injuries were so severe and the surgery to repair the damage was so intrusive surgeons had to remove her wisdom teeth before operating.
Detectives investigating the crime have described the attack as “sickening”.
They also revealed they are searching for 26-year-old Liberato - also known as Luca or Lib - Galiazia in connection with the crime.
Police were told of the attack two days after it happened and immediately started searching for the suspect.
They have released a picture of Galiazia, who is originally from Naples in Italy.
His last known address is in Bedworth .
West Midlands Police say all police forces in the country have been alerted to his wanted status and there are active efforts to trace him.
