An elderly man who was attacked by a young woman in Coventry city centre has died.
West Midlands Police this morning confirmed that 80-year-old Joginder Singh died in hospital on November 3.
A post-mortem examination is due to take place to determine the cause of death.
On August 10 Mr Singh was knocked to the pavement in Trinity Street by 19-year-old Coral Millerchip, in an incident caught on camera and shown on the internet .
Last month Millerchip admitted assault causing actual bodily harm and is due to be sentenced on November 25.
Police are now consulting with the Crown Prosecution Service over whether she should face fresh charges.
A West Midlands Police spokesman said this morning: "We can confirm that Mr Singh died in hospital on November 3.
"At the moment it's impossible to say if the injuries sustained in the assault were a contributing factor.
"He has spent the majority of his time in hospital since the assault.
"We have notified the CPS of Mr Singh's death and are consulting with them over the next step."

Teenager jailed for Coventry city centre attack on 80-year-old man
A teenager who attacked an elderly man in Coventry city centre has been jailed for more than three years.
Coral Millerchip, 19, from Wyken, pleaded guilty to assault after kicking out at and hitting 80-year-old Joginder Singh in Trinity Street last August.
The attack was captured on a mobile phone and shown on the internet.
Mr Singh, of Cannon Park, died in November after being readmitted to hospital for treatment for a previously diagnosed condition.
At the crown court in Leamington this afternoon, Millerchip was given a total of three years and eight months - two years for the city centre assault and 20 months for an unrelated burglary.
The defendant didn’t give evidence although the court heard she had a troubled childhood.
The judge said she had “humiliated” Mr Singh.
The shocking video clip showed Millerchip kicking out at and hitting the 80-year-old Sikh, knocking him to the ground and causing his turban to fall off.
