Police issue appeal following Tile Hill Station assault

Tue Jan 01, 2013 11:19 pm

Officers are appealing for the public’s help to identify a man they would like to speak to in connection with an incident at Tile Hill railway station.

In an anniversary appeal, officers have released a CCTV image showing the man they believe will have information which can assist the investigation.

Investigating officer, PC James Lynch, said: "Shortly after 2pm on Monday, 29 October 2012, a man approached two youths who were on the platform at Tile Hill station and assaulted them.

"The man then boarded the next train service from the station and is believed to have alighted at Canley rail station.

"Enquiries have been ongoing to establish the identity of the man who carried out this unprovoked attack on the boys, who were aged 11 and 13. Both boys were uninjured but left shaken by the man's behaviour.

"I am now hoping that by releasing this CCTV image on the anniversary of the attack, someone will be able to identify him.

"I believe that this man will have key information which can assist this investigation."

Anyone with information is asked to call Freefone 0800 40 50 40, or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

In all calls, please quote incident reference 268 of 29/10/2012.
