COVENTRY police are asking second-hand shops in the city to be on the look out for a pocket watch stolen in a burglary last month.
The gold colour watch is described as very distinctive and has “Untrinque Paratas love mum and dad xx” engraved on the back.
Officers investigating the crime believe that crooks may now be looking to sell the watch.
A laptop computer and five watches were also stolen in the burgary which happened on Woodclose Avenue between 6pm 14 October and 4pm on the 20 October.
PC Nicola Morris, from Coventry’s Willenhall police station, is investigating the crime. She said: “Burglary is down in Coventry and if we find the person with this watch then we stand a good chance of taking another criminal off the streets.
“With this in mind, I would urge anyone who has been offered to get in touch so that we can reunite it with it’s rightful owner.”
Anyone with information should call PC Morris on 101. Alternatively, people who do not want to speak with police officers directly can contact the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
The appeal comes at a time when house burglary across the whole of Coventry is down by 11.2 per cent. That’s 156 fewer victims of burglary between April to October 2012 compared to the same period the year before.
