Dixons Retail has announced that it is closing down its online store to focus on harmonising Currys and PC World's online business.
Dixons.co.uk will cease operations as of tomorrow (October 9), six years after it first began trading, as the company continues the gradual withdraw of the brand.
UK airports are the only place that the brand will be seen going forward, with Dixons Travel concession stands continuing to do business for the foreseeable future.
Dixons UK chief executive Katie Bickerstaff told The Times: "We want customers to have a seamless, multichannel experience that's device-agnostic, whether they're at home or in-store or on the move.
"We don't see a place for Dixons.co.uk where we have our Currys.co.uk and PC World UK. We have done fantastic amounts of work to make sure we have fantastic pricing. I'm confident it's the right thing to do."
Dixons Retail announced plans to close 100 of its high street stores over the summer as part of an ongoing cost-cutting strategy.
