New boundary signs are springing up in the borough with a double-edged purpose.
They are designed to cut out confusion and give people a sense of belonging.
One of the latest signs has been erected in Bennetts Road at Keresley.
Councillor Sara Doughty, who represents the area at the Town Hall, said: “We were approached by residents of Keresley Village about a boundary sign.
“Bennetts Road is very confusing because it meanders in and out of Nuneaton and Bedworth and North Warwickshire.”
Bennetts Road also leads to the ‘invisible’ border between Nuneaton and Bedworth and Coventry.
At one time, residents claimed there was a ‘Berlin Wall’ between the two.
Cllr Doughty said: “All of Keresley Village is in Nuneaton and Bedworth and the residents are proud of being part of the borough and we are proud of that as well.”
The new sign has been positioned on the corner of Grove Lane and Bennetts Road.
Cllr Doughty, her fellow borough ward councillor Roma Taylor and county councillor Frank McCarney joined forces to have the sign installed.
They were supported by Cllr Dennis Harvey, leader of the borough.
Brent Davis, director of street services at the Town Hall, said: “We have been installing a number of boundary signs along roads that previously did not have any to let motorists know when they are entering the borough.
“Some of the roads around our borders, particularly near Exhall and Bedworth Heath, weave in and out of the borough and the council feels it is important to ensure residents and visitors know where they are when travelling around the area.”
