Two boys broke through tight security and tried to steal the Olympic Flame in Coventry on Monday morning.
Dressed all in black, the youngsters slipped through the barriers on Sky Blue Way in the city centre at 7.20am.
They approached a group of five NHS workers, who were running in tandem through the city, and attempted to wrestle the iconic flame away.
They managed to get their hands on the treasured torch - before being swiftly ushered away by police.
Police said they were taking no action against the pair.
