Coventry council gets street name wrong...

Two eagle-eyed Binley youngsters were quick to spot an error on a new sign installed where they live - incorrectly spelling their street name.



Reece Eyden, eight, and sister Kia, 10, pointed out the mistake in Coombe Park Road, Binley, after Coventry City Council put in the new sign last week.

Dad Jason Eyden, 44, said it had taken three years for the council to replace the sign.

“There had just been the two posts there for three years,” Jason said.

“When I saw it I thought ‘oh good, they’ve replaced it’. Then the kids pointed out that it was spelled wrong.

“What makes it more odd is there is a sign on the other side of the road with it spelled the right way.

“We just thought it was funny so we decided to take this picture and send it in to the Telegraph for a laugh.”

A Coventry City Council spokesman said: “This is a genuine mistake and we are sorting it out as quickly as we can.

“We would like to apologise to all concerned.”
