James Brennan has set up the region’s only Do-It-Yourself garage in Fletchamstead Highway – a venture which is proving to be a huge success for the city born-and-bred businessman.

Ramp and Wrench Ltd is the result of years spent tinkering with cars and bikes, for the 38-year-old entrepreneur, who was a lecturer at City College Coventry.

“I set up the business three months ago,” he said.

“Over the years, I have had a lot of friends who are car enthusiasts, like myself, and we had the mechanical knowledge and know-how but there were jobs that we couldn’t do on the driveway. We always talked about setting up a DIY garage so I started looking for the right location and found the base with the help of Coventry City Council.”

Ramp and Wrench has two three-and-a-half tonne two posts lifts and also two 400kg motorcycle lifts. There is also a range of tools and equipment for carrying out repair work.
