An illegal immigrant has been jailed for 12 months after sexually assaulting two women on buses in Coventry.
Pervert Kuldeep Singh, aged 35, will be deported when he is released. He attacked young female passengers travelling on the No 12 bus between Coventry and Leamington.
Singh, of no fixed abode, who admitted three charges of sexual assault, appeared at Coventry Crown Court to be sentenced.
Tim Sapwell, prosecuting, told the court Singh, who is originally from India and is in the UK illegally, had moved to sit very closely next to the women on all three occasions.
Singh assaulted an 18-year-old woman on April 4 and 12.
Then months later on September 8 he assaulted a 23-year-old woman.
On two of the occasions he had with him a large metallic suitcase which he placed on his lap and used to disguise his hands as he inappropriately touched the women.
He would also push himself up close to the women and touch them as the bus went round corners.
CCTV images from one of the incidents were printed in the Telegraph in October which prompted the second victim to come forward.
Singh was arrested days later by officers at Pool Meadow bus station in Coventry city centre.
Judge Philip Gregory handed Singh eight months for one count and 12 months for each of the other two offences.
They will run concurrently and he will be deported on his release.
Judge Gregory said: “This was unpleasant for the ladies. They felt trapped and very scared.
“Your conduct on public transport was totally unacceptable and would have been frightening for them.
“I am entirely satisfied your continued presence in this country will be a detriment to this country because of the manner in which you have lived and behaved, assaulting young women who should have felt safe on public transport.”
