50 trinity mirror jobs under threat

Sad news indeed but inevitable.

The Midland Newspaper Group (which includes the Coventry Telegraph) has been up for sale for many years but there have been no takers, primarily because this is a permanently shrinking market.

It's already known that Trinity-Mirror have applied for permission to demolish the Corporation Street headquarters and replace it with a hotel-cum-residential development.

If I was in my mid-to-late fifties and Trinity-Mirror offered me early retirement and a decent redundancy package I'd seize it with both hands.

By the way, the brief interruption to services just after this story was posted was not sabotage by anyone at Trinity-Mirror, Apache's server program simply quit unexpectedly as it is often prone to do.
