Warwickshire County Council and Coventry City Council have formally agreed to run their highways and transport departments together.

Coventry City Council leader John Mutton said: "As neighbours, it makes sense to work together and to utilise each other's areas of expertise."

It is unclear whether the plans will lead to job losses in either council.

Coventry City Council is planning to save £45m of cuts next year.

Warwickshire County Council has said it plans to save £33m.
