Traffic chaos in Spon End...

The junction between Holyhead Road and the Inner Ring Road is closed for resurfacing and other work. Everyone is using a 'rat-run' via the side streets. As a result of this the side streets are now completely choked with traffic.

Please use an alternate route instead such as Allesley Old Road or Radford Road.

The work will continue for at least three weeks.

Certainly was very busy on Barras Lane / Windsor Street the other day. Was taking photographs of Wellington Gardens - nice what they have done around the plaque, hope vandals don't destroy it.

I work in windsor street the traffic is being diverted there from the holyhead rd and its chaotic and I heard it mite take longer than expected.

There are signs every fifty yards on the Holyhead Road telling drivers that the road ahead is closed and yet they still seem surprised when they find it is.
It's been ten days now and they're still ignoring the diversion signs

Will be interesting to see how they cope with the next stage of the roadworks when the Northumberland Road junction is also closed?
